Happy Mom's Day To All

I would just like to greet every mothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day to all of you. I know being a mom is a difficult task and a lifelong commitment so for every mother who loved, nurtured and raised their child well. I give you two thumbs-up!! This day is for you! Down w/ Influenza

Last Wednesday, I am feeling really really bad since the phlegm is already starting to build up. Dry cough and runny nose filled my entire respiratory tract. I still do go to the office though because I still can push myself. I don't want to be absent just because I am not feeling well and besides I have lots of work and obligations to accomplish.

Yesterday, I still went to the office because there was a delivery of Targus bags, a 40 feet container of bags that I have to check, reserve and monitor. I felt ok in the morning but then afternoon came and the influenza virus started dominating as I feel my body weakening. At around 6:00pm I am really really really not feeling well, as I sat on my desk waiting for the clock to strike 6:30pm so that I can rush to go home. Upon reaching home, every part of my body is aching already. I am really down with influenza. It is painful, chilly and very uncomfortable.

Thanks to the 2 people who cared and helped me with this sickness, my aunt and Lanie, our trusted maid, for without them, I am so helpless already. Thanks!!

I am still down with influenza but its not as bad as last night. I even managed to post an article. See? hehehehe

According to wikipedia, Influenza is:

Influenza, commonly known as flu, is an infectious disease of birds and mammals caused by RNA viruses of the family Orthomyxoviridae (the influenza viruses). The Forbidden Kingdom

It was only until recently that mom and I got to watch The Forbidden Kingdom in Powerplant. Good thing it is still showing there, as you can see in the ticket, the cinema is being shared by Ironman already. Showing time of 11am, 1pm and 3pm belongs to The Forbidden Kingdom while 3, 5, 7 and 9pm already belongs to Ironman. That is a proof that the movie will be outdated soon in the cinemas. hahahahaha

It is a modified story of "Su Mo Kong", a monkey king, who fought evil to restore peace and order in the land. It is one of the many chinese fables and legend that is very famous. I remembered when I was a kid, dad and mom used to us tell stories about "Su Mo Kong". It has a comic book version, a story book version and it even had a TV series both cartoons and real.

Anyways, the movie itself is a bit dull, well, hmmmmm yah a bit boring. But nonetheless, its worth it because it stars Jet Li and Jackie Chan in one movie. This is the first time after soooooo many years that they made a movie together, how cool is that?? Kung fu with Jet Li and Jackie Chan.... beat that!!! Sad to say that is the only highlight and exciting factor for me so my conclusion is that it's still worth it even though it is dull and boring HAHAHAHAHAHA!

The Sisters who loves to be Koreans

Last night, Auntie Vibian, Mom, Jaimie, Jesse and I ate at Korea Barbecue, a Korean restaurant that serves delicious authentic Korean cuisine, located inside Ortigas Home Depot in Julia Vargas. The restaurant itself is simple, nothing fancy, but the host, who happens to be the owner is the kindest Korean I've ever encountered so far in my life. At first, we have the freedom to choose what food will we eat on the menu but later on, she's the one who's deciding what food should we eat next. Talk about hospitable and sweet. She even sat down with mom and my aunt to have a drink of what they called "Chum-Churum". "Chum-Churum" is mixed with cucumber for that refreshing and cool feeling. Perfect drink for the summer time. The owner by the way, is the bestfriend of mom's and aunt's hair-dresser who is also a Korean, haahahaha! It was a fun-filled glutton night. I've never ate that much Korean food... it is not only a lot.. ITS HEAPS!!!! haha

The restaurant is a MUST-TRY. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Not just because the restaurant serves delicious and authentic Korean cuisine but also having the courteous and friendly staff, the hospitable owner and the simplicity of the place.

BUT.........

The highlight of the story and this blog isn't just about this newly discovered Korean restaurant located inside Ortigas Home Depot in Julia Vargas, it is about the SISTERS WHO LOVE TO BE KOREANS. Yup, you guessed it right, the sisters are none other than my mom and my aunt. Watching Korean Soap Operas through the years truly influenced them to like everything about Koreans, the food they eat, the culture they have, the gestures, the expressions, the way they dress and etc. I had an identity crisis that night, am I Chinese or am I Korean? HAHAHAHA!

New Clothes from Giordano Concepts in Hong Kong

Mom came home from Xiamen, Guangdong and Hong Kong yesterday and along with her a few new office clothes. She is the best when it comes to fashion together with my uncle, they both have the passion and the love for it They don't just buy because it is nice looking but they check what fabric was used. Just by touching and feeling, they already know what kind of fabric was used. THANKS MOM!!

Anyways......

concept called Giordano Concepts. They have a big boutique in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. Their main line is office, formal and business attires both for men and women. The price is not very Giordano-ish anymore, it is at par with Topman, Zara, Marks and Spencer and etc.
