NBI Clearance & Fake Diplomas For Sale

PART 1 : NBI CLEARANCE

I went to NBI Carriedo last November 2007 for my new application for an NBI Clearance needed as part of the requirements for my employment. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go back after 7 days to claim my NBI clearance. It was only until last Saturday, when I remembered that my NBI application is valid only for 6 mos. if unclaimed. I immediately scheduled today to get my NBI clearance from Carriedo.

It was a very very hot day. I parked my car in SM City Sta. Mesa and then rode the train (MRT-2). From V. Mapa station to Recto Station, cost me Php 12.00. Cheaper than to drive all the way there. Gas right now is a whooping Php 46.47/liter already and also parking will be such a problem. So riding the MRT-2 is a way better plan.

Upon reaching Recto Station, I managed to still walk a few meters, a short stretch of C.M. Recto to reach NBI. It was so hot and the sun is pricking my skin. I don't know the temperature today but I'm pretty sure today is one of the hottest.

Upon reaching NBI, I noticed that there are so many people queuing for a new application or renewal of their NBI Clearances. Fortunately, I will only claim mine, THANK GOD!!! since I applied way back Nov 07. I've never seen so many people queuing. I pity them because it was so humid and crowded. Sometimes, it really pays to be early rather than wait for the last minute to prepare. My opinion why there are so many people is that the newly graduate would want to apply for NBI clearance in preparation for their upcoming requirements with whatever company that will hire them. NEVER APPLY FOR AN NBI CLEARANCE DURING THIS MONTH!!! SWEAR!!! I went straight to the 5th floor and queue and wait for the release of my clearance. After a few mins, I got hold of my NBI Clearance. YAHOOOOOO!!!!!

PART 2: FAKE DIPLOMAS / TRANSCRIPTS / OTHER DOCUMENTS FOR SALE!!!

On my way back to the MRT-2 Station, again, I passed by Recto. I was walking slower now since I am not rushing. As a result, I had time to actually wander my eyes around Recto what's for sale. Its the usual, belts, sandals, cellphones, shoes and etc. BUT one thing really caught my attention. I mean, I know the selling of diplomas and transcripts and other documents is already famous and rampant in the stretch of Recto. But this is the first time that I actually saw people selling and marketing their fraudulent acts. I know there had been so many actions that the local police and local government did to eradicate these vendors. (If the local government of the City of Manila is doing a great job, then why are they still there??)

Education - Diplomas and Transcripts are the things that we invest heavily on both monetary, emotionally, physically, basically all aspects already. I myself am a Bachelor's Degree holder and I felt that it 's really unfair to the people who invested time and money and effort to be able to get the Diploma of their school and hang it in their walls with pride and dignity. I understand, life is hard living in a third-world country and you have to be a fighter to be able to survive. But that doesn't mean that we should do bad things in order to survive right? Be honest and be true to yourself and what you had achieved and what you still want to achieve.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: IF THERE ARE NO BUYERS THEN THERE WILL BE NO SELLERS

Robinsons Place Manila - NEW!!! Midtown Wing

After Ocean Park, we decided to go to the new wing of Robinson's Place Manila. This new wing was the site of the former Manila Midtown Hotel owned by the Gokongwei Family, the same owner of Robinsons and Robina Corporation. It is called the Midtown Wing of Robinson's Place Manila.

I managed to take a photo on how it improved the over-all look of the mall that is strategically located along M. Adriatico, Pedro Gil and Padre Faura streets in Malate, Manila.

The interior also looks amazing, clean and brightly lit. It is definitely an improvement from the mall.

Upon our arrival, there is an event that is going on in its activity center. I saw a lot of people dressed in their favorite Anime heroes and characters. I didn't bother taking pics of the people who took part in this event but they all look good, complete costume and parapharnalias. Impressive.

Transformers is also considered an Anime because it was developed by the Japanese way back in the 80's but was brought by the United States. I managed to take a pic with one of my childhood heroes, Optimus Prime. Transformers was my favorite childhood cartoon as well.

Marvin, Jason and I decided to have our dinner at Fridays, drank draft beer as well. HAHAHA!

On our way home, something really caught my attention. Early March, I received a text message from Topman that they will have a clearance out sale in Robinsons Place Manila, upon reading, I wondered? Huh? Why? Oh well.... was my reaction. BUT not until I saw the new site for the said store. I was awed. WOWWWWWWWWW!!!! hahahahaha. Hope they text me again when they open in this new location. I can't wait. Topman is one of my favorite apparel brands.

Manila Ocean Park

YES!!! Manila has her own Oceanarium, we don't need to go elsewhere to actually enjoy and see Nemo and his gang. Now we can compete with the oceanariums found in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. Did I say compete? Hmmm.. well read on for rants and raves....

Located at the back of the Quirino Grand Stand near Luneta Park in the heart of Manila.
Entrance fee is Php 400 (Adults) / Php 350 (Children).
Park Schedule is from 10:00am to 9:00pm

I was so excited since I am a big fan of fishes and the different and exotic animals found on Poseidon's realm simple because these are the creatures that we don't normally see.

Considering I am a diver, marine and reef aquarium enthusiast ( I used to have a reef tank at home) and someone who visited and enjoyed Sydney Aquarium in Australia / Hong Kong Ocean Park in Hong Kong / Sentosa in Singapore. I would like to enumerate my personal observations.

HERE ARE MY PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS:

1.) Queuing takes about an hour before you actually reach the first attraction of the park which is the imitation of a typical tropical rainforest.

2.) The air conditioning system of the place is POOR. Considering the number of guests and people that visited. Im telling you..... ITS HOT INSIDE.... HUMID.... If you are the type of person who easily faints in hot crowded area... please avoid going, at least for now..... wait til the hype is over.

3.) The Philippines is located in the so-called "Coral Triangle" meaning, our country is one among the very few that has the most abundant marine life form found all over the world. Not even the Coral Reef in Australia or the reefs in Hawaii can compare to us. Considering this fact, our oceanarium has the LEAST variety. NOT EVEN A JELLYFISH... and its clownfishes are only about this size ( ------ ). It is just like going into a very very very big aquarium showroom.

4.) The design of the aquarium is so plain and bare. How can you place FAKE corals when you are actually featuring THE REEF. 90% of its corals are plastic only 10% are real. Cartimar has more corals that are for sale for reef aquarium enthusiast. Please!!!!! Even the shark aquarium part is so bare. Aesthetics fail in this aspect.

5.) Good news: Filipinos actually follow rules in this park. They queue properly, listens to do's and dont's which is very very impressive! Because of the volume of the people that actually visits, they have a pretty mediocre system and it is really being followed. Very impressive for the Philippines.

6.) The underwater walkway..... please..... its so short, so hot....... can't you improve?? And when you reach the end of the walkway, you will notice that there are multiple aquariums that are still awaiting for your curious eyes. BUT, they are all the same, just an extention of an extention and another extention. Thrifty? Corruption? Hmmmm........ no wonder? hahaha

Ive read articles in newspapers and the internet and watched features on television (Mel and Joey in Youtube) about how great Manila Ocean Park is. AGAIN, I was fooled!!! Maybe to all those who can't experience other aquariums in other countries, this is really spectacular and magnificent and really something new for them. But for people who experienced other aquariums that other countries offer.... Manila Ocean Park is I bet on the bottom of the preferred list or favorites.

If I were to rate the park, I would give it a rating of 5 out of 10, 10 being the highest and that is my most humble and lenient rating already. It deserves even a 3 out of 10. If any staff or management of Manila Ocean Park happens to read my blog..... IMPROVE IT GUYS!!! PLEASEE!!!! I didn't get the value of the ticket I paid for....

But despite all the negative things I mentioned, there is only one good thing that we all can be proud of, at the very least, Manila has her own oceanarium already. That's all....

GOD OF WAR: Chains of Olympus in PSP

God of War: Chains of Olympus is part of the God of War Series, the story evolves before the first God of War game released in the PS2 Console. And now, it is already on the portable scene on the PSP.
The graphics of this game is really awesome. Words can't even describe the hype, the excitement and the anticipation I experienced when I saw this game on GameSpot (http://gamespot.com/). One of the main reasons why I bought a PSP to be honest.

It is an action-packed game wherein you play the role of Kratos, a spartan. It is based on Greek Mythology which is another factor that made me loved this game so much. I am a huge fan of Greek Mythology and I am always fascinated with the stories and the mythology itself. So really, this game is truly for me.

This game was developed by READY AT DAWN STUDIOS, the same developer who made DAXTER. Another fabulously creative and superbly made game.

The only bad side to this game is that it is only short. If you are an avid fan of great graphics, nice action, some puzzle solving games top it all up with a mythology theme, then this game will be sooo short for you since you will be stucked playing this 24/7. I finished the game in 2 days only... 48 hours... no kiddin! you keep wanting for more when you actually finish the game. So much excitement and hype plus the way the game is being developed and created is so spectacular and awesome, the only thing that u dont want with this game is to conclude, but yes, sad to say, its short and it finishes fast.

So calling out all the PSP owners who haven't gotten a hand and played God of War: Chains of Olympus... YOU ARE MISSING OUT A LOT SERIOUSLY.... I MEAN A LOT!!!!

Intel and Mariah

I was surfing the net to research something about computers until I noticed one link that captured my attention. It is a youtube link about a tv commercial of Intel Centrino Duo and Mariah Carey. I didn't know Mariah Carey endorses commercial products as well.... hahahahaha.. and I didn't know how Intel came up the idea of getting Mariah Carey in their commercial too. Its static! hahahaha =) Sometimes marketing and advertising in the states really makes u wonder and at the same time awe in surprise.

I know Intel Centrino works wonders on our laptops. Believe me, I am very happy with my laptop having Intel Centrino as its processor. But I never actually hear Mariah singing high notes everytime. Now that is the power and strength of her 8 octave voice, you won't be the top selling female artist of all time for nothing right? hahahaha.

Another thing why this commercial captured my attention is because I am an avid fan of gadgets and technology, but gadgets and technology with Mariah is a whole new different level HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

SHE'S STILL HOT!!!

By the way, I dont know what year this video was shot and shown to public hahahaha..

Thai at Silk

Jason, Marvin and I had a dinner get together at Serendra and we ate at this Thai restaurant named Thai at Silk. I dunno why I suddenly craved for Thai food. I am not a huge fan of Thai food but my palette demands a bit of change in flavour. We are all out of budget and running low on cash that is why we decided to just eat in a Thai restaurant. We didnt expect the food to be quite expensive.

BUT.....

The food is great.... so the price becomes secondary already. We ordered three dishes and there is an unlimited serving of Thai Jasmine Rice. The rice itself is so delicious already!

If you guys want to experience a good Thai restaurant then Thai at Silk is worth a try.

Best Sellers according to the head waiter:

a.) Green Chicken Curry:

b.) Fried Fillet of Fish with Sweet Chili Sauce: ( YUM!!!)

c.) Sweet pork ribs:

Look at the interior of the restaurant. I never expected it to be this cozy and classy. I've been to Serendra a couple of times already but this is the first time that I actually tried this Thai Restaurant.

For those of you who doesn't know where it is, it is located near Conti's =) Enjoy

Je Suis Gormand

It is my brother's birthday today and we celebrated it in this restaurant in Bonifacio Global City. The restaurant is called JE SUIS GORMAND. Yes, it is a French restaurant... remember "Ratatouille" hehehehehe.... The food is really great... The price is a bit pricy but reasonable for the quality of the food and the ingredients that was used.

For appetizers, we ordered Portabello Mushrooms with fresh farm eggs

I wasn't able to take pictures of all the food that we ordered but I managed to take a pic of what I ordered, hehehehehe.... =)

For my main course, I ordered Blue Cheese Carbonara with Prawns and Bacon

And for dessert, we ordered Crepe with Banana Fritters and Banana Ice Cream....

I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants something new, something great and something really delicious. It is worth the money and the time. It is located in Bonifacio Global City Taguig near Mcdonalds.

Hot, Heat and Humidity

I can't believe it!!!! I checked ACCUWEATHER under the world weather link and it says there that Manila today is 34 degrees C (air temperature) and its real feel is 43 degrees C (the temperature we actually feel). Can you imagine, 43 degrees of humidity and heat.... OMG!!!!

Summer is really here.... I should really lose some pounds really quickly...

Good Friday.... My Birthday 03/21/2008

Mocha Cake from HIZON'S ---> WOW!!!

Well yup... you read that correctly.... this year my birthday falls on a Good Friday. Can I help if the whole nation treats my birthday as a legal holiday? HAHAHAHAHA kiddin kiddin! Anyways, the day went really well. We usually go to Kitanlad every Good Friday for a family reunion, just chill, relax, share stories with cousins and etc. Mom prepared a delicious lunch for all of us; Squid with special chinese sauce, shrimps with XO sauce, fish hotpot tofu (I forgot to take pics of it... arghh).... ate like there is no tomorrow.

After lunch, my cousins and I decided to go to Starbucks Tomas Morato, since we heard that it is open!! WOHOOO!!! On our way, my cousins spotted that Pancake House is also OPEN in E.Rodriguez so we decided to just go to Starbucks E. Rodriguez instead of Starbucks Tomas Morato since it's only beside Pancake House. Ordered the usual, Caramel Affogato. After a puff of smoke, we headed towards Pancake House, ordered Classic Pancakes and my cousins ordered Potato Salad yummm and a whole lot more.. hahahahaha. And then they decided to go to Burger King, which is beside Pancake House.... HAHAHAHAHA... ok... WE WERE BORED! So there, we headed to Burger King... they ordered fries and Cheesy Tots....

Stopped by Ministop to buy some beers for the night.... and some additional stuffs as well. Dinner was prepared by my Aunt, Ginataang Tangigue, Daing na Bangus, Tinapang Bangus, Tinapang Tuyo and etc. LUNCH WAS CHINESE, DINNER WAS FILIPINO... WOWWW YUMMM!!! hahahahahaha

Chilled for a few hours and then we head home.....

It was a fun day, I really have no intentions of celebrating my birthday this year, this was the idea of Mom and I am so thankful that she planned for the whole event. Thanks mom!!!

*** If you are wondering why the cake says.... Happy Birthday Jonas and Jerwin because my birthday falls on the 21st of March and my brother, Jerwin, falls on the 23rd of March.. cool huh??? hahahahaha ***

Starbucks

It is Holy Thursday right now.... Dad and I brought Angkong (Grandfather) home from Congressional to Cubao. On our way back to Dad's place, we stopped by Starbucks West Ave. I remembered what Leanne ordered, by the suggestion and recommendation of the friendly baristas in Starbucks Ashcreek, it is called:

CARAMEL AFFOGATO
(not on the Menu)

It is a cream frappucino with caramel sauce topped with hot espresso shot. It is very very delicious. Remember to add a shot if you are ordering the Grande size to make your affogato worth drinking. The only downside to this drink is that it costs a little more than what we usually expect. The grande add shot affogato costs P190.00. So if you are looking for a new drink in Starbucks, I strongly suggest you try this one. YUM!!!!! hahahahahahaha

In reality, Affogato means an ice cream on your coffee, but Starbucks has their own rendition.

One Tree Hill's 100th Episode

After watching the 100th Episode of One Tree Hill (One Tree Hill Season 5 Episode 12) to be exact, there is only one statement that would summarize the whole episode, from Mr. Jeff Hidek of http://www.starnewsonline.com/ and Ms. Amy Hotz who contributed to the report, I quote " ...featuring a wedding, a surprise return and an emotional reunion..."

I thought the 100th episode will mark the end of the show luckily I was wrong, it marked the beginning of yet another journey with the cast and crew of One Tree Hill. I've read from a reliable source that One Tree Hill will have its 6th Season. Hooray!!

One Tree Hill has been a big part of my life for the past 4 years and 5 years in counting. This show is helping me think, reminding myself to be a better person, realizing that life has so much more to offer. Made me strong, made me fight and made me stand back up again. I know it sounds so cheezy but its true! Behind the image of being a girly teen drama show lies a deeper meaning to every fans out there who truly loves the show. Ever felt being silent and still for a few minutes after watching the episode, just sitting there thinking, recalling, reflecting? I do all the time..... its the connection between the viewers and the show itself.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of One Tree Hill and to its creator Mr. Mark Schwann!
** THE NEXT AIRING WILL BE ON THE 14TH OF APRIL **

Episode 12 by: Karen Roe

"You know, in life if u let it, you can always come up with reasons to give up. But if you don't you might just find love in places you've never imagined; in a new relationship or in your work or in your children. Whatever it is, just dont give up on it and if you don't get it.. well, you might get something better."

One Tree Hill Season 5

ONE TREE HILL SEASON 5 WILL HAVE ITS 100th EPISODE AIRING
THIS TUESDAY 3/18 US TIME (WEDNESDAY 3/19 GMT+800 PHILIPPINE TIME)

Here are some of the excerpts which I PERSONALLY got. How did i get them? Well.... simple, played it back over and over and over again until I finished typing what they are saying.. hahahaha. Too much effort? NAHHHH its all worth it. I want to share to you, maybe you guys can pick a lesson or two from these excepts. ENJOY!!!

Episode 1 by: Lucas Scott

"Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, we graduated highschool and saying goodbye. The feeling that you get at 17 or 18 that nobody in the history of the world has ever been this close has ever loved as fiercely or laugh as hard or cared as much. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday and sometimes it feels like someone else's memory."

Episode 2 by: Haley James - Scott

"Things aren't always gonna be fair in the real world. That's just the way it is. But for the most part, you'll get what you give. Lemme ask you all a question, what's worse? not getting everything you wished for? or getting it but finding out its not enough? The rest of your life is being shaped right now with the dreams you chase, the choices you make, and the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time and the rest of your life starts right now."

Episode 8 by: Peyton Sawyer

"I want you to know, you dont need somebody to write about you in order for your life to mean something. You can write about yourself, make your own destiny then years from now, the next girl will keep what you wrote on that door long enough to remind you how inspired your life is. And you can tell that girl to paint over the door, because you realized the words you wrote, the friends you had, the urgency you felt will always be there underneath the paint. The love you profess will always be there, the spark of something undeniable, the seed of hope, the truth, for better or for worse burning fiercely just below the surface."

Episode 9 by: Marvin McFadden

"There is a highschool basketball game tonight, somewhere in America, a team won and a team lost. But that is not the real story, the real story is about fathers and sons, its about life and time and change. Girls and boys went to the game, they dressed up and hoped to fit in, some did, some didn't. It's a story that has history and chapters yet to be written. There is a highschool basketball game tonight, somewhere in America, reporters will report, they'll tell you who the high scorer was and what the keys to the game were, but that's not the real story, as a matter of fact, that's not the story at all."

Episode 11 by: Lucas Scott

"Albert Cameron once wrote: "Blessed are the hearts that can mend, they shall never be broken!" But I wonder, if there's no breaking, then there's no healing and if there's no healing, there's no learning. And if there's no learning, then there's no struggle. But struggle is a part of life, someone's all hearts must be broken.

Hilarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer)

One Tree Hill, though its a girly show, its still one of the best dramas I've ever watched. It is my favorite in fact. And as a guy, I ain't shy to tell the world that YES I am a huge fan of One Tree Hill.

Season 5 started January of this year, right now they are already in Episode 12. The drama in this season is more matured compared to its past seasons since all of the cast graduated College plus a few years more. They meet each other again back in Tree Hill.

Anyways, the story is perfect, the drama is wonderful. I will post some excepts I got from the show on my next entry, watch out for it. hahahahaha! I swear everytime I watch the show, I always reflect about my own life, my own self. The show has a huge impact on me I dont know why... hahahaha... the show and I have this certain connection HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Another thing about the show, why I love it very very much... its because I have a HUGGGGGE CRUSHHHH on one of the casts.... her name is.... (drum roll please..... )

HILARIE BURTON better known as Peyton Sawyer in the show. Not just crush, she reminds me of a dear friend of mine whom I love very very much as well, the like the same music, have the same strength, they have a lot in common. You see, there's the connection I am talking about hahahahaha.

Scorching Summer Heat

A few weeks ago, I was wondering because the temperature is still very cool and comfy considering its already the middle of March. I keep saying to myself that I am sure it is global warming. This is the first time in my entire life that I have experienced cool weather during March.

BUT.................... I spoke to soon....

TODAY was SCORCHING HOT....

According to http://www.accuweather.com , which by the way for me is the most realible weather site ever built. Because it has a feature called REALFEEL TEMPERATURE. Realfeel is the temperature that we actually feel and experience. Because temperatures that are being reported in other weather sites and weather news is the air temperature of the place and not exactly what we are feeling. So Realfeel is the most accurate report on how hot or cold the temperature of a certain place is and it is only found in http://www.accuweather.com/

Anyways, going back, according to http://www.accuweather.com/ the temperature today in Manila is....

MANILA, PHILIPPINES --> Air Temperature 27 - 33 but the realfeel reported is 30 - 38. Imagine that, 30 is the coldest OMG!!!!! now that is what i call scorching. I remember during the cold nights we experienced a few weeks ago, the temperature is somewhere between 18 - 27. Can you imagine, the hottest before is the coldest now...... SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSHHH!!!

on the brighter side, SUMMER IS HERE EVERYONE!!! lose those pounds ( I hope I can lose mine!), bring out those shades, suntan, sunscreens and beach towel!!

The new generation Trike of Manila
